Overview

Embark on a journey beginning in Lisbon, Portugal’s vibrant capital, rich in history and culture. From there, travel to Fátima, a world-renowned pilgrimage site, and continue to Tomar, home of the Knights Templar and the stunning Convent of Christ. Visit Coimbra, known for its ancient university and beautiful medieval architecture, before heading to Porto, the city of bridges and famous port wine. In Portugal’s historic villages, starting with the charming, secluded village of Piódão, followed by Monsanto, often called the “most Portuguese village.” Explore Guarda, the highest city in Portugal, and visit the medieval villages of Castelo Mendo and Castelo Rodrigo. Continue to Trancoso, with its rich Jewish heritage, and Marialva, a village surrounded by ancient castle walls.

Discover Belmonte, the birthplace of the explorer Pedro Álvares Cabral, and the picturesque village of Sortelha. Continue to Fundão, known for its cherry orchards, and visit Castelo Novo, a beautifully preserved historic village. Conclude your journey in Idanha-a-Velha, a village steeped in history, with ancient Roman and Visigothic ruins.

Day 1 - LISBON
At an agreed time, we will meet the guide at the hotel.
Day 2 - LISBON
Dedicated day to take a city tour of the Portuguese capital. We will visit the Belém Tower, the Jerónimos Monastery, Praça do Comércio, São Jorge Castle, the Sé Cathedral, and many other places of great history and beauty. In addition, of course, to trying the famous Pastéis de Belém. During the night, we suggest a typical dinner to the sound of Fado.
Day 3 - LISBON/TOMAR/FATIMA
Early in the morning, we will leave for Tomar, a place that reminds us of the ancient Knights Templar. Time to visit its main tourist attractions. Arrival at Fatima, the place where Our Lady appeared to the 3 little shepherds. Accommodation and visit to the house of the 3 little shepherds and the Sanctuary.
Day 4 - FATIMA/COIMBRA/PORTO
We will continue our trip to Coimbra, where we will visit its old University, as well as the Cathedral, the Monastery of Santa Cruz and its historic center. Continuation to the city of Porto. Time for a city tour of the city ending at Cais da Ribeira, on the banks of the Douro River, with its restaurants famous for their wine and cod.
Day 5 - PORTO
Free day. We suggest an optional excursion to Santiago de Compostela
Day 6 - PORTO/PIÓDÃO/MONSANTO/GUARDA
Leaving Porto, we will 2 of the most picturesque villages of Portugal, Piodão and Monsanto. Start in Piodão, a charming mountain village known for its slate-covered houses and stunning natural scenery. Wander through its narrow, winding streets and soak in the serene atmosphere. Next, visit Monsanto, renowned for its unique stone homes nestled among massive boulders, creating a breathtaking and surreal landscape. Explore the blend of ancient architecture and striking nature in this remarkable village. This tour offers a glimpse into Portugal’s enchanting rural beauty and timeless traditions. Arrival in the city of Guarda and accommodation.
Day 7 - Dia 7 - GUARDA/CASTELO MENDO/CASTELO RODRIGO/GUARDA
Discover the timeless beauty of Portugal with a visit to the historic Castelo Mendo and Castelo Rodrigo. Wander through the ancient streets of Castelo Mendo, a charming village surrounded by well-preserved medieval walls and stunning views. Then, immerse yourself in the rich history and dramatic landscapes of Castelo Rodrigo, perched atop a hill with panoramic vistas of the rolling countryside. This captivating journey offers a glimpse into Portugal’s medieval past and breathtaking natural beauty.
Day 8 - Dia 8 - GUARDA/TRANCOSO/MARIALVA/GUARDA
Experience the charm of Portugal with a visit to Trancoso and Marialva. Wander through Trancoso’s picturesque streets, where medieval architecture and ancient walls tell tales of a rich history. Then, journey to Marialva, a captivating village set against a backdrop of rugged landscapes and historic ruins. Discover Marialva’s impressive castle remains and scenic views that offer a window into Portugal’s past. This enchanting tour showcases the unique heritage and stunning beauty of these historic gems.
Day 9 - Dia 9 - GUARDA/BELMONTE/SORTELHA/FUNDÃO
Leaving Guarda, we will immerse in Portugal's rich heritage with a visit to Belmonte and Sortelha. Begin in Belmonte, a town steeped in history with its medieval castle, Jewish heritage, and charming streets. Discover the town's deep cultural roots and architectural beauty. Continue to Sortelha, a captivating village known for its well-preserved medieval walls and ancient stone houses. Wander through its narrow lanes and admire the panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. This tour highlights the historical significance and picturesque charm of two of Portugal’s most enchanting destinations. Arrival in the city of Fundão and accomodation.
Day 10 - Dia 10 - FUNDÃO/CASTELO NOVO/IDANHA A VELHA/LISBON
This day, we will travel from Fundão to Belmonte to explore its historic castle and rich cultural heritage, then continue to Sortelha, where medieval walls and ancient stone houses create a timeless atmosphere. Arrival in Lisbon. End of our services.
